We believe that this is going to be the decade for digital employee experience, or DEX. As remote and hybrid work arrangements become more common, companies need to rethink everything around their internal processes, services, and support to make their workplace more productive.
There’s still a lot to be done. From culture to processes to technology – multiple aspects of an employee’s day-to-day experience need to evolve. And while Atomicwork, the product, will work to solve one part of the problem, as a company, we want to contribute to improving the other aspects of DEX as well.
We want digital employee experience to become its own movement, something that goes beyond Atomicwork.
This is the intent behind our launch of the Day1 community – a space where folks who are passionate about moving the DEX needle can come together. We want to build a platform for professionals in this space to share knowledge, learn from experts, and celebrate each other.
We want it to be clear that Atomicwork will act merely as an enabler of this community. We have created an independent brand for Day1 because we want Atomicwork to be a member of the community, along with everyone else.
We want our company to be a part of the community, instead of the other way around.
Digital employee experience is, at its core, a philosophy. And you need more than that to bring sustainable change. You need action. You need to have the right people and processes to execute that philosophy, using the right products and technology. Only when all of them work hand-in-hand, will you be able to craft a delightful digital employee experience.
Most communities out there are either built around the product, or around the philosophy. Few have managed to blend philosophy, people, products, processes, and technology. Day1 intends to do exactly that.
Moreover, HR teams are generally considered to be the people who take care of their company’s employee experience, often ignoring two other important parts of the equation – IT and business teams. While HR people manage the philosophy and processes around DEX, IT handles the technology, and business teams make choices around the philosophy and products. Day1 aims to bring all these stakeholders onto a single platform.
We want Day1 to bring all the facets of digital employee experience – the philosophy, people, products, processes, and technology – together as one collective.
DEX is never done. It’s an everyday job in an organization. From business leaders to the front office, everybody contributes to their company's digital employee experience. And it’s a never-ending pursuit – teams need to keep evolving their philosophy, processes, and technology to ensure that their digital employee experience keeps up with the times.
I would consider Day1 a success when employee Experience is discussed and supported at workplaces as passionately as customer experience, when it grows from being just a movement to table stakes for an organization’s growth.
Every day is day one in an organization’s DEX journey.
