Claim to fame

Launching Panda AI

Meerah pioneered the launch of an enterprise-wide generative AI-powered employee assistant, “Panda,” to handle IT, HR, and finance queries for 13,000+ employees. Panda resolved ~60% of tickets autonomously and enabled the company to shut down its phone/chat portals, replacing them with AI-driven help, trained on Palo Alto’s internal knowledge base.

Internal LLM development to protect IP

To ensure engineering data stays secure, Meerah’s team built and deployed private LLMs (based on Anthropic Claude via Vertex AI). These internal models replaced tools like GitHub Copilot for 6,000+ engineers, helping reduce cycle times while securing proprietary code.

AI-powered Go-to-Market acceleration

Meerah tapped into generative AI to also compress product launch prep from 4–6 weeks to 2–3 days. By auto-generating GTM assets with human-in-the-loop reviews, the process became faster without losing quality or compliance.

AI access governance and risk control

Building a real-time monitoring platform to govern AI tool usage across the enterprise, Meerah also established AI usage policies and dashboards for visibility. The system was designed in such a way that it blocks uploads of sensitive code or PII to LLMs while still encouraging experimentation.

Meerah’s AI Philosophy

Meerah Rajavel
CIO Palo Alto Networks

"I look at technology as a means to an end–producing an outcome, whether it’s for the greater humanity, society, or a specific outcome for a small set of the population. Working in tech companies, either in product engineering or building products, I wanted to be a practitioner, to build and implement them." Source

“Combat AI with AI. If you’re defending in real time, you’re already late.” Source

“AI should accelerate value, not distract from it. Start where impact is repeatable.” Source
